You know those days. When you feel like you've run into a
Alex and I having a serious conversation about what to do when you're
Me: ...so it's okay to be mad, but just use your words. What can you
do when you get angry?
Alex: Bite mommy.
My mom woke up the other night and Loren was standing over her with a
pair of child's scissors. He was going to cut her hair because she'd been
complaining about it and he wanted to surprise her.
My worst fun: hmm, what shall it be this evening?
Getting the spaghetti that he removed from his mouth with his hands
rubbed all over my shirt (Max's official towel)? Or perhaps any one of the
several tantrums that occurred in the stroller? Or maybe his hysteria
in the bathtub because I didn't let him dump ALL the baby shampoo out so
he could make bubbles? Or might it be when I, retard, took him with me to
see a house in Hoboken and he escaped from my arms and started sending
faxes on the homeowner's telephone?
Conor was taking a shower and , as is his wont, he mixed up a potion
of shampoos and oils and soaps and stuff. There was nothing in there that
should have been a problem, but somehow he ended up pouring it over his
penis and was screaming in pain. So I ran down and soaped him off but
it took a long long time to get it better and the whole time I'm thinking
this is an episode he'll be telling his therapist about someday.
The funniest part was when I suggested that we soak his penis in some
warm water, he said "Get a BIG cup."
Fonely Max wouldn't always threaten (and sometimes carry out the threat)
to reboot my machine when I am on-line. He thinks it's so funny! He
slowly reaches his hand out toward the reset button and watches my
reaction, giggling. . .

Edith & Lukas are supposedly down for their naps, it's the one
hour-and-a-half when Nancy and I can get something done in our new apartment
where much needs doing. And we have company coming in a few hours. We hear
noise, check on Edith. She has taken off her clothes and dirty diaper, and
has covered herself with shit. And covered the sheets, blanket, stuffed
animals, walls, her hair, etc. When I walk in, she's grinning and putting
her hand in her mouth, saying, "Eat it?"
