Joyce Maynard, Articulating Paper Doll (© 1998 Joe Rosen)

Description:

Joyce Maynard is the second (see the first, Lyndon Baines Johnson) in the new Electromics ‹tm› Articulating Paper Doll series.

Joyce Maynard is the famous author of such popular novels as Baby Love, To Die For, and Where Love Goes. A Keene, New Hampshire native, Joyce Maynard currently resides in the quiet suburban Northern California community of Mill Valley.

You do not interact with Joyce Maynard (famous author and current Mill Valley CA resident) by conventional pointing and clicking. Instead you follow the instructions below to build your own real life paper doll.

(Note that unlike other Electromics ‹tm› no Java is required to interact with Joyce Maynard.)

Instructions:

(STEP 1)
(jm_doll_1_sm.gif)
Go to http://www.electromics.com/jm_doll/jm_doll_1.gif and download the image (65K). Print the image (Joyce Maynard's head, arms, and hands) in color on a heavyweight white paper (recommended 26 lb., 8.5 X 11").

(STEP 2)
(jm_doll_1_sm.gif)
Go to http://www.electromics.com/jm_doll/jm_doll_2.gif and download the image (93K). Print this image (Joyce Maynard's body, legs, and sneakers) too, in color on another piece of heavyweight white paper.

(STEP 3)
Go to http://www.electromics.com/jm_doll/www.gif (26K) and download the image. Print this image (the Electromics URL) in black & white on the reverse side of the color print images made in Steps 1 and 2.

(STEP 4)
Carefully cut out the body parts along the dotted lines.

(STEP 5)
Assemble your paper doll using paper fasteners as joints.
It's a good idea to pre-score (i.e. carefully slit the X mark at each body part's joint with an X-Acto knife) before inserting the paper fasteners. This will help prevent the paper from tearing.

Paper fasteners are usually available wherever office supplies are sold. Sizes approximately 1/2" long are recommended for assembling the paper doll.

(STEP 6)
Hang your assembled paper doll from the head or shoulder fasteners with a piece of string.
